Upgrading ArcGIS Notebook Server on Windows containers is only supported on Windows Server 2022.
- Unfederate your current ArcGIS Notebook Server installation from your previous ArcGIS Enterprise installations.
- Upgrade your ArcGIS Enterprise deployment.
- Uninstall the previous version of ArcGIS Notebook Server.
- Install ArcGIS Notebook Server 11.1 (Windows containers).

For a multi-machine site, repeat steps 3 and 4 for each machine in your site.

Ensure that the ArcGIS Notebook Server 8.0 runtime has been installed. - Federate ArcGIS Notebook Server with ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Update the runtime of existing notebook items to the ArcGIS Notebook Server 8.0 runtime. See the change a notebook runtime section for more information.
- Recreate the data directory and update the settings.
- Update the memory and CPU usage required for your runtimes.
